well said wnshie. common problems with hk kids these days. I blame it on the success of hk economy and import of domestic helpers. if you want the best for your kid, make some more kids and sack the helper.
ha ha, this is now turning into a baby kingdom forum.![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

Will man,
you are right on some points, but my son is 16 and a local Elite school and taking part in outside of school activities like the HK200, where they socialise a lot, is humble and has good eq(biased
).
i met a DBS EAS (but jim) lad at his summer camp, he was very smart and diplomatic
and i was very impressed with his iq and eq, but then one other was appallingly bad, just as you described.
one classmate left in F3 and is now No.1 at a good International school, but swears like f...
just have your principals and GAR FAT and you'll be ok
E60 babykingdom mediator (cos i have the oldest kids
)

Wow, great job... your wife
Started playgroup yet?
With a 9 yrs and a 20 mths, in my experience, it is better to push the kid a little hard the first few years, they wouldn't find it hard work, it is only us talking about childhood and innocence, to them it is the same as watching cartoons, as long as they are with one of you (mom or dad) they would take it like fun... furthermore, as they grow up, they would evetually get lazier anyway.
Yet when they have had a strong foundation since childhood, then later on, when things get much easier for the kid to pick up in class later in life, I bet both you and the kid would know the difference.
Don't forget their EQ thou, I don't know about you guys, a lot of the fresh grads' from the Uni. in HK, they are so wicked, no respect, no remorse... or simply put, they are so self-centred and what's more, most of them are incapable of socialising. THIS, is what I don't like about the local schools, it seemed like we have trained the kids to become an exam machine to finish Uni. but missing out the part to teach the kids to socialise or teach them what's right in life...![Frown](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/sad.gif)

co-ed had good results, slightly more A's per person than DBS(but not overall)
dgs had 4x 10A and 5 x9 As.....and 15 eas last year.
all are good schools
with IB you need 38points+ to get in HKU
William when can we see your bodykit??
