icic, price drop on electronic stuff is normal la. that's why I prefer to spend money on lenses instead.

It dose not matter what you own
It all down to what photo you take.
If you take a lot of sport photos and what very sharp colour then nikon is much better.
But for me I take more of scene and people and what natural colours so canon for me.
also now it dose not matter which 1 you get because Lightroom 2.1 can change the photo to what every you what Nikon, canon, olympus, sony.
so right about photo software, that's why I stick with Nikon. Can always unsharp a photo, but can't sharpen it with good results if the image itself doesn't have that much details.

Agree...Camera is just a tool.

I shift to Nikon not because of the quality of Canon.
For DSLR, image quality are not only depends on the lens itself.
It also highly depends on the CCD/CMOS and the digital color system.
I changed to Nikon system mainly because Fuji super CCD didn't equiped with Canon body.
But if the 5D Mark II launched 1 year sooner....I think I will stick with canon.

In terms of color, there have less important for me on digital image system.
Photoshop can do most of the things on it.....

On film stage.....Canon system perform much better than Nikon.
But for digital stage...Nikon performs a little bit better than Canon.
Especially the high ISO performance.

I used be a press photographer in entertainment form 2000-2002.
At that period of time, 99% of press was using Canon film system.
Because the response of body and lens especially the focusing speed are performed better on Canon system.

Now....most of them has changed to D3 instead.

But in my point of view, the current model of both Nikon and Canon are very nice and reliable tools.

yea have an D3 as well to take photos of my baby as well. the fast frame rate comes handy when taking photo with baby, cos they never hold still to let you take photos.
