I cleaned my at AK last year
you need to take out the air filter box and some other parts to get to it.
Its alot of work.
I would just let AK do it, much quicker and it cheap as well.
Ask him to night or get him to clean it today before you get the car.

That DIY page model is E39 which MAF just behind air filter box and easy to disassemble to clean. But our E60 is not and that MAF under the engine, need take out a lot of parts. Not easy for DIY.
