I just came from my dealer. My 550i should be here in a couple of weeks and I am so looking forward to getting it. Today, however, he made me an incredible deal. 2008 ///M5 fully loaded, active seats, full leather, soft close doors, etc etc for no money down, 7 MSDs @ $1340/month for 24 months, 15K/yr. The only problems are that I would still need to pay my final 2 payments on my car @ $986/month on my 06 550. I would also miss out on my BMW CCA rebate of $1000 and let's face it, $400 more a month is $400 more a month no matter how sweet a deal it is. One more thing, the color is silverstone which I really don't want only because it's basically the same color I have had for my past 3 cars and honestly, I am sick of it. Another consideration is that my insurance would go up a couple of hundred dollars and the gas mileage would be even more dismal then on my 550. What to do.....hmmmmmm.

More $ yes, but for that 24 months you will not be able to wipe the grin off your face....and in 5 years you will still think back to how much you loved that car and will have forgotten the extra cost, which in the long run of your life is really nothing.

Well remember, it's still $9380 which will be refunded and 1st month plus fees.

I just called Zeckhausen and they do not make dustless brake pads for the ///M5. I am leaning towards no go because I HATE having dirty rims.

They make them if you get the big brake kit that Zeckhausen sells....

Funny I just got off the phone with Mark from Zeckhausen who told me the exact same thing. Only problem is that on a 24 month lease I think it's silly to put in something so costly.

ok, let's be honest here amongst us girls. You are leaning towards a no-go on the M5 because you can't get dust free brake pads

I cudda had or V10 or a V8 when I was looking to buy. I opted for the V8 and would do it all over again. Higher price, gas, insurance and taxes aside, I believe the 550i is a more accomodating grocery getter/commuter than the M5.

good luck with your decision

I went thru the same decision making process and also opted for the V8 for similar reasons.

Me too. 12 MPG for a daily driver was too low. Awesome car that M5!
