I concur with what Errowen stated above.
All we are doing is resetting the 'learned' behavior/trans mode BACK TO the default mode.
Trans will 'learn' or 'adapt' to the trans mode as we drive everyday. This reset does not fix any underlying mechanical problems.
I wish there is a button for resetting all humans to be logical and rational :-) kidding.

If you did the "hold down the accelerator" trick and it reset your radio presets, you've got an issue with your car, perhaps a battery that's on its last leg.
It's been 40 below here for the las 10 days or so and no problems starting in the morning, Maybe it is something else? It not only resets the transmission, but reset everything else too. Maybe my car is a 'special' one lol.
I know that on my Dodge Ram, the pedal reset required the batteries to be disconnected for about 30 minutes for the charge to be completely drained from the truck. Then connect that batteries and perform the pedal to the floor slowly and back slowly to reset the TPS. It wouldn't do anything with the Transmission, though. :-)

well, read this old thread with coffee at 5am and i was sitting in my car by 5:15am.
No noise. And the procedure worked after a few attempts after i cleared the "seatbelt" code.
Once the code was cleared turned off the car.. 25s and start....
Night and day. Hands down fantastic pedal/throttle response.
Neighbors probably not too happy im ripping soprano exhaust around
our quiet neighborhood. F-- em.
Filler up with 101 octane later today..
Gratitude to the late OP and folks along the way..

Noticed an immediate difference. That transmission lag when quickly coming to a stop and then taking off again and getting that annoying lurch is gone. In Drive (D) the shifts are smooth, quick and precise. in Drive Sport (DS) The shifts are a lot more noticeable and seems a lot more like my 135is with the dual clutch transmission. I have done the sport button mod on my car and I have dynamic drive and active steering nothing changed with the transmission reset. The car overall has a better feel

I have read almost every post in this thread and they are amazing.
I am wondering if this is putting the car into Sport Mode rather than resetting the tranny.
Seee enclosed video if you folks have not before seen this.
This guy is a wizard!!!
