Have just been out for about 25 mins in the car and it's definitely made a difference. Seems to be adapting as it goes. Fantastic. The car certainly feels more lively now. Top Tip!

Lomag -- looks like we need to add this great tip to the (aging) FAQ!

 

All I can say is: AMAZING. This really works. This process has cured the single biggest complaint that I have about my e60.

Three questions:

1. How often does this need to be done? I certainly do not want to do this every day or even every week.

2. Why should we have to do this at all? BMW should entirely eliminate the transmission "learning process" which seems to be the root of the problem that this process addresses.

3. How in the world did someone discover this? Many of us have been complaining about transmission sluggishness for a long time.

 

I did it last night but I'm expecting some sort of 'tranny noise' as reset confirmation but not gettin' any then tried on every stages over 1 min period so not sure if I'm doin this right.
Put the key in we get radio on, right? Then press start/stop once (w/o hittin'/pressin' brake pedal) so the dash check engine etc. lit and floor the accel pedal all the way and hold?

 

I saw that in two of the 7er forums. Most of the folks who tried claimed it made a difference. I haven't tried it on my 750i. It's pretty smooth already.

I didnt get any noise either, but boy could I feel the difference afterwards!

It feels like a completely different car. The newly liberated throttle response in particular is electric.

 

No noise on this end either.

 

Don't know if I had the noise or not, as the CD changer was whirring away, but it definitely did the job.

Is this possible with older e60 that don't have the start/stop button? What exactly is the process again? My tranny has been shifting horribly lately.
