got a 55 525sport (adaptive head lights) with extended warranty

front passenger head light had some water leak in or somin and it corroded the chrome

called 3 BMW dealerships each ones says the head light seals are not covered on warranty (so any damage caused by the seal failing ie THE WHOLE FECKING ?900 HEAD LIGHT) is not covered either

so even though just 1 bit of chrome prob costs ?1 is damaged dealer says i have tp buy the whole unit they refuse to repair it

id hate to spend ?900 on a whole brand new head light knowing its just for a ?1 bit of chrome

what are my options? can these lights be opened up? ill re chrome it my self
or do i really have to buy another whole fecking unit

I think your only real options are:
Look at the junkyards (breakers yards) for a replacement
Or, keep checking eBay, just remember US or any left hand drive country's replacements won't be good for you.
Sorry

I had a bad experience with BMW and warranty as well actually.

The wing mirror mount on the drivers side of my car has some paint starting to bubble/blister, as the car is covered by a 6 year paint and anti corrosion (afaik ??) I asked the dealer if I could have it replaced under warranty, they said no sorry, its trim, FFS they do anything to get out of warranty repairs, 48k car and they wont fix something like that !!

It's actually not just BMW, I had (as previously mentioned) a Jeep SRT8 before my E60 - it is the top of the line as far as Jeep goes, and about a month after I got it the trim around the windows started to come up. The dealer of course refused to fix under warranty despite the 3yr/36K bumper to bumper warranty. That was when I decided, even though I liked the power my Jeep had (500WHP), I would NEVER buy American again since this was not the first time I have had American cars and they have always had these types of issues. I am much happier now.
