they will do estimate.
dude it is all depends on whoever you have.. you need to call your insurance company.. we are not your insurance company...
they will deal with this situation ... not us... they have to look at it first before you do any work and just taking to bodyshop and get their estimate wont fly
so call their 1800 number and claim your hit and run... and just follow whatever they tell you to do.
also just put up pictures so that we can see what you are dealing with

I have to agreed. Anything that happens while u arent in the car is considered comprehension (falls under the same category as vandalism).. if u were driving it would be collision.
If your car if parked and unoccupied, and that vehicle sustains damage from another vehicle (that subsequently left the scene) - it would ONLY be covered by COLLISSION COVERAGE of the vehicle owner.
Comprehensive Coverage: Glass Damage, Vandalism, Falling objects, Theft, and collission w/animals
When it comes to an insurance claim - the Ins Co. will send a licenced adjuster to view your damage. You may also get your own appraisal from a bodyshop of choice.
Whether or not your rates will go up depends on many factors, including - but not limited to - insured's claims history, length of time with said company, circumstances of accident, which insurance company your with, company underwriting guidelines, state laws, other supporting lines of insurance with company ie auto/home/life., and amount of claim paid.
good luck.
