-you mean bumper?

from what the pic shows, I'd say you don't need a new bumper cover at all.

This can be fixed. As a matter of fact, I'd not even bother making a claim over smth like this - you can probably fix this yourself (sans the re-paint, - that you'd prolly need a bodyshop for). Unless I'm seeing this wrong...

However, if the bumper cover is determined to be needing replacement, you can get a m-tech or M5 rep...
May be the best reason go for M-tech package

This happen to me a few years ago on my toyota SUV. A Ford truck ahead of me lost its brake pads and it came flying off hitting the pavement, bouncing over one car and finally hitting mine on the bumper.
It didn't do as much damage as it should but enough to scrape the paint.
Good thing it didn't go through my windshield and hitting me.

I'd take it to a BMW-approved body shop. Might be a repair, but depending on labor, a replace might be what they call for.

Looks like a new front bumper cover to me. I'd go for the MTECH if your replacing it anyway.
Give it a good swift kick to insure that they have to replace it with the M-tech bumper you NEED!

Did you happen to get any identification of the truck from where the metal came from?
If yes, I would track them down and suggest that they pay for the repair because clearly they did not secure the load they were hauling.

Good luck.
Part of a vehicles load or piece of a vehicle that comes loose and hits another vehicle causing damage or injury is a M.V accident, it is not "an act of god" as some insurance agents claim. Get any information you can and report it to police agency where it happened and either get a MV case number or an incident number which you can give to you ins. co. Most large trucking outfits actually have windshield repair services for these situations.
If damage is over a certain amount they turn it over to THEIR ins companies.

I agree with the others, if you have to replace it anyway get the M-Tech front, it's what I would do.

Yes I have to pay a $250 deductable. I can live with that as long as I don't have to pay thousands of dollars to fix. The most important thing to me is that the fix is done right and with the right parts
Where are you located? I know a certified body shop that will make your car look like brand new!

New bumper cover? Are you kidding? This kind of damage is fixable, even without bondo, just some sanding, flex additive, and surface putty.
It will require repainting the whole cover though. Should be less than a $1000 for everything. No new parts needed, unless the fog light brackets are shot.
+1

that is like saying i got a flat tire, the only way to fix it is to get new rims and tires.

such an e60.net mod whore response
