I love the stereotyping that is put on teenagers and how we are not allowed to basically "redeem" ourselves for past choices made. I was 16, 4 months into driving, for doing the hit n run, stop sign, everyone does, ...
Good luck

Hire a traffic lawyer!!!!!

You where in the the middle of two other cars. Lawyer has many ways to work this too your advantage. Maybe the other car was riding up your ass so you speed up because you felt unsafe, cars on the side of you so you couldn't safely pull to the right, and just so happen the cop was right up the road. Why did he pick you out of the three cars????.........hmmmm this doesn't sound like cherry picking. In fact it would've been easier and safer to pull over the rear car then you. Is the cop a 100% sure he got you on the radar and not one of the cars.

Just alot of questions can really be raised quite easily in the scenario you presented. Any decent traffic lawyer should have no problem getting you out of this.

P.S.: People lighten up on the guy. I'm sure none of you did any stupid stuff when you where 18 to 25. I know college makes you walk the straight and narrow. Turning 21 and partying it up all over town every weekend I'm sure none of you did anything that wasn't fully thought out. Chances are most of us on here have been pulled over and I'm sure some more then others. I'm sure many of us tried getting out of it too. But then again maybe that was someone elses fault.

I'm not saying as if im too proud of doing the hit n run..i was 16.. and it was a block away from home so i decided to just drive home to avoid insurance but i guess they got plates, idk.
so you only did it because you thought you could get away with it? i got it now... makes sense

Let's see...hit and run, stop sign, speeding, teenage guy, $50K+ car, money not a problem in the middle of a recession...

Diagnosis - another spoiled little rich kid who has yet to learn the lessons of life, responsibility, and ownership.
My prescription - grow a pair, take your medicine and join the rest of us as productive members of our society.

Couldn't agree more...no sympathy here...especially after a hit and run
