What I am talking about has nothing to do with tires.... it has more to do with the levels of power-assist in the steering.

....

If you are standing still, and turn the whell on the 325i... it takes MUCH more effort to turn than the 545i. Consequently, when you are driving... the less effort to turn the wheel translates into a more nimble feeling of the car.
To be honest, this is incorrect. First of all I have driven my car with RFT's and without at 200kph and more. The RFT's definitely make the car unstable and sensitive to wind and road camber changes. See many, may topics on this forum. BMW fits the M5 with normal tires for a reason, as do all sportscar manufacturers!

Secondly power assist is speed sensitive, therefore it is impossible to determine the level of assistance on a car when stationary. I suppose you don't mean your car is unstable when parking

On decent tires the E60 handles very well taking into account size, weight, center of gravity, etc... No sportscar, but certainly good enough to outhandle hot hatches and the FWD competition.

What are you guys thinking? Aren't you discussing unsafe and illegal activities on our roads? Gee, I'm beginning to think that some are just out to get us boy-racer, street-racer, straight-line performance guys.
