After getting my rough start issue fixed (rumbling on cold start), I still have a high idle when I start my car. It revs to about 1.5k rpm for a bout 30 seconds and then goes to about 750 rpm. This happens at all times during the course of the day. Is this normal? Or is it part of the rough start issue?
I know it might be slightly off topic - how did you fix rough cold start idle ?

Revs-wise, my car does 1000rpm when cold, 10-15 sec later 750rpm and around 500rpm when warm.

Alex

Isn't high revs bad to the engine when cold? now why would BMW do that? perhaps to maintain the engine running or to warm up? oil flow?

My rough idle was fixed when my service manager had my DMS removed and sent to North Jersey for reprograming.
