Well i just spoke to my dealer about this and he has heard nothing such!!

As far as he is concerned it has been ordered with high gloss shadowline and that is what he expects to see in the next couple of weeks...........

I can't find anything you've said that you risk being proved wrong about.

I hope I am wrong in getting ready for said dispute and that my new vehicle arrives as specified.

Unfortunately as much as I enjoy a contractual debates with any one, I have just spent the last three weeks page turning a contract and arguing the relative merits of 'all reasonable endeavours' vs. 'best endeavours', etc. and as such I am now fully fuelled to vent my frustration on the next appropriate Third Party(ies)

You seem to be quite interested in accuracy of language.

Has "fuelled" now become "fueled". Pleased tell me it isn't so!

Not been watching this for a couple of days.......if anyone feels strongly enough about this they are within thier rights to reject car. I personaly took the decision that it wasn't going to ruin the experience of collecting my new toy - in all honesty, the only time you will notice the difference is when you see a car with HGSL next to yours. If you want to have your first experience of ownership of that shiny new bit of kit on your drive to be ruined by a nice bit of hefty conflict with your dealer then go for it..........personaly this car is too damn good and life is too damn short to get worked up over a shiny bit of plastic. Sort compensation in a balanced manner with BMW UK and then get on with the important bit of enjoying the car........is what I am doing

I agree.

My dealer called today and confirmed that my new 535d is de-chromed but has no HGSL.

I'm not going to have a fit with him - he's a nice bloke and it's not his fault.

He said he will call tomorrow with what BMW UK are offering as compensation - if anything.

I'm sure I can get something out of them. As I said, maybe some free servicing...

Just to let you know that BMW UK are giving me ?135 for the lack of HGSL.

That seems ok to me.
