My Ride: 535D Sport Auto
Just checked the uk web site and on the configurator they now have the new 520d, 540 and 550 with the 4.8L engine. Some called sport, some called M sport - me now very confused. I noticed an option called high beam assist - anyone know what this entails. If you guys already know please go easy as.

It switches on the high beam if you are driving at night and there is no oncoming traffic. And when there is oncoming traffic it switches the high beams off again...

I'm keen to see what happens with the 525d and 535d models - I'm expecting a similar power boost like the 530d...
I note that the 535d and 540i are about the same price - I'm tempted by the V8
Whatever, they all go up an insurance group!

My Ride: E60 530d Sport - Carbon Black, Black Dakota Leather, Media Pack (satnav, bluetooth, CD changer), heated font seats, through load
BMW can't get dipped beam to work. What chance have they got with main beam.
I can always tell if an E60 is coming towards me. It's headlights will be on.
E60 - lights always ON. The last thing I'd want is main beam always ON too.

My lights will sometimes tun off, but it has to be very very bright, sunny (not overcast), and when the sun is high in the sky (morning or afternoon is lights on time).
As I said, I'm not the only one. Driving on the motorway, midday of the day when it's bright and sunny. You can guarantee that every other car with it's lights on is an E60. OK, I'd rather have the lights on every time I need then on, but it is excessive.
