Got a new 520d coming in two weeks with HiFi Speakers as one of my extras.
Anyone got an opinion on this option.

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
I suppose you got the Hi-Fi speakers instead of a "normal" speakers.
At least the BMW Nordic E60's got the Business CD as standard and they sound pretty nice.
You can feel the base in your bones.
But I'm sure you did the right thing.
How much did the option cost?

In my opinion they are not as good as in the E90 I had previously and also the bass is poor. But its early days yet and I might be missing a trick (yes I did rack up the Bass to full in idrive!).
Having said that I haven't heard the basic speakers which maybe very poor in comparision.

Did you have Hi-Fi speakers or the Logic7 in your E90.
Must say that I haven't listen to the E90 speakers,
only standard Business CD and Hi-Fi speakers in the E60.
Hi-Fi's did sound a bit better but the standard's are more than OK.

Are there subs in the E60? and if so where are they located ? Also is there a speaker above the idrive screen facing the windscreen or is that just a vent ?

Logic 7 is essential, IMO, if that is what you are talking about. Hi-fi speakers should be better than regular speakers if that's what you mean--thus worth it, IMO, since they can't cost too much.

Have this option in my E61 and think it was the best option from the list I picked.

I do like listening to a wide range of music and I think the standard speakers in my current E46 are very poor.
Thats the main reason I went for the up grade.
