Worried about f'ing up the carpet or cutting a wire or cable under it.
Does everyone take off their sprintbooster before going to dealership?

Its not like you can really see the wire if you don't hide it behind the carpet.
I did not take mine off before going to the dealer.
I am not sure that their computers could pick it up as it only works when you step down on the gas.
Even so, I am not sure anyone here has ever reported getting caught by the "SB" police.

I didn't cut the carpet..I have the SB with the red wire cover which is a little bit visible to the right of the pedal..still I never bother to remove when going in for service..
The question is: what are you going in for? Is it for regular service or warranty work related to electrical/mechanical? I wouldn't worry about it for regular service, but the latter might be different.

I usually take it out every time. Last time I forgot and they didn't say anything. I wasn't expecting them to say anything anyway. The only time I would say you HAVE to take it out is if your going in to diagnose an engine or transmission problem.

if you want to be safe spend the few mins it takes to uninstall it. better to be safe than void your warranty. who knows if you would void it but why take a chance? thats my 2 cents
Good point.
