DD - Are you able to play DVD movies in the front nav slot? AFAIK you can only play DVD movies by installing a DVD changer in the trunk. Can you please confirm whether this is correct or not?

The optical input that you found in the glove box is a high speed connection that will be used in the future to perform software updates. Right now the OBC port is a really slow serial connection and all software components take up something like 80 MB so that's why updating/reprogramming the car takes so long. In the future, these software updates will be performed by connecting directly to the connection that you discovered so that they will be done in a snap!

And just another suggestion, why did you mount the GPS antenna visible on your dashboard? You should be able to mount it underneath your dashboard since the plastic of your dashboard does not block the GPS signal, my Micro Roadpilot is mounted like this and is working perfectly!

DVD Drive will not play movies but there's an option to select it under the entertainment menu.

The antenna for the b2 did not like being under the dash and I didn't want to go digging higher beside the airbag!...I can live with a visible antenna .

Why has the entertainment menu got the dvd drive selection ?

Dr D

looks like a good installation. how have you attached the display unit to the lower console, is it adhered to the dash or have you recessed it in any way?

the cradle is just attatched to the switch panel with the double sided sticky pad.

I've not got heated seats so it sits where the seat switches would go.

I'd strongly reccommend the B2...its saved my bacon on countless occasions...Where it really comes into its own is when casually driving around at say 40 is and you forget to spot/slow down for a revenue raiser camera....I use it as a memory jogger for familiar roads and a licence saver for unfamiliar areas!

Get one.....expensive but a whole lot cheaper than 3 points/a fine/an insurance ?? hike!!

Fred, Don't Know....depends on if you can download relevent databases.....not yet supported by B2 but unsure if they will do in the future, (it does have school, blackspot and congestion charge databases on-board at present, I update mine weekly from the internet....?50/year subscription.

I noted that someone earlier said they use the micro road-pilot and their sig said they were in Belgium.

I don't drive abroad but do head south to London/Manchester/Birmingham etc where it is invaluable, at home, as said earlier, it is a great memory jogger!

B2 lists speed camera warning areas, speed trap areas and other such "speed enforcement areas". I carry a portable unit for when I have a rental car in the UK .. it's saved my rear many a time on unfamiliar roads..

Sorry, no one is organized enough to develop one for the US yet... besides I wouldn't see the point as very few speeding tickets come off organized traps or speed cameras anyway.
