HID and license plate error codes

Hey guys, i just bought me a really nice 07 525, it came with all four HID and leds on the license plate, but i got error codes and parking light malfunction codes, even tho they work good, i tried searching around but no luck.. any suggestions? Thanks

It depends on which type of LEDs and HIDs you have installed. Some of the older versions will throw codes, the owners either lived with them or had the car coded to not throw those codes. From my understanding the car uses all 12v components and LEDs and HIDs use less voltage, therefore if they do not have a resistor or ballast, then the car thinks the bulbs are blown. There are plenty of light/bulb gurus on this board so im sure they can explain more.

Thanks for the reply, yes the Hids have their balast, the headlight at least, i havent checked the fog lights yet but they should be there.. just need to know if there is a way to reset those codes

You will have to get the error coded out or buy some new plate lights that are error free. I have LED plate lights and i do not get any errors.
