Default hi a newby with tcu ibs and heater fan issues

hi all

54 reg 530d

got battery drain which I see is a very common for the ibs, code reading does indeed also bring up an ibs related code.

secondly unable to connect to tcu with my diagnostic gear, wondering if that's related to battery drain instead, also every few mins or so the car beeps through the speakers as in the phone connecting beep

ive got the glove box out and all the boot sides and floor cannont find the tcu anywere???? googling says its in boot left hand side but all that's in mine is the standard amplifier

and finally I have no heater fans atal

someone whos been here before with these issues id really appreciate some pointers pls

You can't connect to the TCU and you can't find it where its supposed to be, obviously it is missing. It is located under the trim left side of trunk (boot) next to the amp. So if you see the amp and don't see the tcu then it is missing. Check the area for the connector. Are you sure your car is equipped with a TCU? You mentioned a beep but you shouldn't have any sound radio, cd, etc, if your TCU is broken/missing because it is a part of the MOST network. If the ring on the MOST is broken then all components will fail to work. The MOST network has your TCU, radio, CD and AMP. If any of those components is inoperable it renders the entire network inoperable.

If the fan is not working then you either have a bad blower motor or regulator, either way a pain in the ass to get to. Here is a write up on how to get to it.

Replace the IBS then see if you still have a battery drain. That is after replacing the fan, the fan could also be your source of the battery drain if it is not working properly.

That means your car is not equipped with a TCU, but there should be no bong if your car is parked. Sounds like your car is not going to sleep but even so if the car is parked there should be no sound after its parked. You need to have the codes read with a bmw specific tool. What lights are you getting and what errors are you getting from the idrive?

If you so desire, send me the last 7 of your VIN and I could look up the equipment for your car

Your car is not equipped with a TCU. Your VO does not show one. As I mentioned if it had a TCU and it was missing or inoperable your radio would not work. Here is your VO.

The TCU is your bluetooth module. The bongs are usually if the key is still in the ignition. What does the idrive say while you are hearing the bong?

It says no navi cd that's it. That will also answer why my diagnostic gear can't connect to tcu
