Welcome everyone!

I have my 545i since august (I guess...) and I have a question about the sound system. As I am working in the dealership I had an opportunity to check couple of other 5ers sound systems. I have us base sound system mwith 10 speakers and it sounds a kind of weird... I have no bass almost at all. I went to the BMW of Westmont and I was told that it sounds ok because it is not a L7, but as I mentioned i've hird couple of others with the same system as mine and it sounded WAY better. Gosh my wifes 07 VW GTI's sound has a lotmore bass. Does anybody have any ideas? Should I be able to hear some bass from the rear too? I know that there are four speakers in the rear shelf... Please help!
Thanks in advance! Great forum by the way!

Maybe the prevoius owner messed with the feeds to the subs under the front seats and used the signal for some afternarket setup.

Have you looked for signs of tampering around the amp in the trunk on top of the left wheel well?

I've never tried maybe I will try that during the weekend... heat up the garrage a little bit. It's cold out here! I will deffinitelly give it a try. It sucks!!! I can hear that the basss is deffinitely low and the dealer should take care of it. All they done was listening the stereo with BMW test cd... Thanks anyway!

the subwoofers are under the front seats, try to play some bass intensive music and see if you can find the working?

All the standard BMW set-ups are low on bass. If you dont carry passengers in the rear you can always move the fader towards the back and crank up the volume. That way the subs work harder.

Surely your local dealer has a car with the same spec stereo as yours, either in the show room or a 2nd hand one out for sale that you can compare it against...?

Hi guys!

Thanks for the replies! I will try to figure something out over the weekend. The subs under the seats are there and wthey work. I will try to figure something out during the weekend. Here where I work I have about 30 5ers in stock so I had enough cars to compare them to mine. THey all sound better in my opinion. I am not sure what to do. Maybe I have a bed ears or something. I am little bit confused with pure stero in my car. I am not a stereo maniac, but I expected better sound from the car that cost 60K when new. If I find something out I will definitely let You know!!!
Thanks for advices anyway!!!

There may be a problem with your car if others sound better, but mine didn't have any bass either. You would have never known the subwoofer speakers were there. I added an aftermarket amp feeding the OE speakers and it is much better -- not great, but now you can at least hear/feel the bass when you crank it up a little and it didn't cost very much for a used amp on ebay. Here is a link to a string when a few people did this mod: sub amp replacement

Good luck.
