Ok... I've been waiting for a while before coming to conclusions... hours of tests with different music and sources...

The new Logic 7 or HiFi Professional or whatever... sucks!!!

Believe me it's not even comparable to the Logic 7 on pre-LCI, so don't buy it, better to install something aftermarket

 

newb question here but what does "pre-LCI" mean?

 

I was not aware there were any changes on Logic 7, what did they change?

 

just bad sound distribution and quality and not even comparable to previous one... Just price is the same!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Do a search but apparently they have made some changes that have reduced the sound quality. Folks have speculated that BMW, in an effort to save $, have switched speakers resulting in poor quality from the LCI Logic 7 system. This has been noted by a number of folks who had pre-LCI E60 and have now received their new LCI E60's.

 

raleigh...a search would provide lots of information, but LCI stands for "Life Cycle Impulse" in BMW-jargon. This essentially means the E60s which were produced after (I think) March 1, 2007. These are the so-called "refreshed" models with various interior, engineering, and external changes to the car. In the US, these cars are 2008 models. As noted, there's a huge amount information in the forums here regarding LCI.

 

Since sound is very subjective can you post some of the test results for the benefits of the forum members.

 

I think they may have also changed the amplifier...

If it's just speakers, I wonder if we can just install pre-LCI versions?

 

Sorry I don't have any "test" that can be posted.. just my hears... but beleive me it's not a slight difference... no possible misunderstandings... Anyway I want to go to a professional HiFi installer for a test and to understand if it's possible to improve the situation
