Welcome. Do you mean the optional L7 stereo system? I don't think it is worth the extra money, but then, on my short commute, I usually only listen to the FM radio news.

L7 has a couple more speakers and more bass and an adjustable array of lows, mid and high-ranges. It also has an accoustical selection that simulates different kinds of listening environments (concert hall, theater and small jazz cafe, if I recall correctly). The main difference is the sound "decay" that is electronically added to simulate larger venues.

I had the standard (but not base) CD setup in my E-39 540 sport and then got this E-60 545 with the L7 (the way it was offered). I don't hear enough difference to warrant the $1500 added cost, but that's just my middle-aged ears' opinion. You don't say where you are located, so, be cautious; your national distributor's "base" offering may be different by model and price than what I expereinced here in the US.

Cheers,
Ray Hull

Ray
I believe he means the Individual High-End Audio System, not available in the US, for some odd reason.

To read more about what differs it from the L7 option, please visit www.dirac.se for more info. Also, please be a bit more specific, otherwise it's not easy for me to help you more than to say I have in my E61 and I love the clarity and the crispness.

It's likely that you're talking about the individual (dirac) audio system (which is an upgrade to the Logic 7 system) that's not available to the US market.

Here are links to some other discussions about it:

I'm more impressed at the fact you joined in November '06, but posted your first message in December '07 ! Is that a record?
