When I floor the accelerator lately, sometimes but not always, the car kind of bogs down and does not jump forward. My car is kept in a heated garage so it should not be entirely cold. Since I live 10 miles from my work, this has happened between 3 blocks from my condo and 5 miles. Is the engine just cold or is there some other problem?

Try turning both DSC and DTC off.

Well if it's a hesitation problem related to DSC/DTC then turning them off will surely help.
I find the same kind of hesitation problem in summer in our Citroen C2 VTS in a hard acceleration with traction control turned on.

His issue sounds like a thottle response problem ... are you implying the traction control system can affect the engine throttle?

Do you mean you just switched off DSC/DTC once and it just 'cleared' something in the transmission programming - or are you saying you have to switch of dsc/dtc every time you drive?

The latter. I always drive with both off unless on a road trip or it is raining.
I know in my M3 I had to turn it back off everytime the car was turned off and turned back on.

These nannies kill power. Thus, they typically produce a strong feeling of nonresponsivenss upon flooring 5ers. This feeling can be overcome by turning both DSC and DTC off or, alternatively, pressing the pedal to the floor smoothly and steadily.
