this was just posted over at Bimmerfest, so for reference :

Here's the pricing changes for the 2007 5 Series. Also, BMW will be including 4 years of BMW Assist instead of 1 year which represents a $720 value.

Pricing is effective March 1, 2006.

530xi.....$700 more than 2006 = $49,700
550i.......$1,100 more than 2006 = $58,500
530xiT......$700 more than 2006 = $52,100

HD Radio 653 = $500
Night Vision 611 = $2,200

Sport Package (now includes 20-way Multi-contour seats, a $1,200 value and Sport Steering wheel on all models)

I'm surprised by the $700 to $1,000 increase on the base price. I know nominal price increases are normal for a model changeover, but except for the aux input, they really didn't add or enhance anything.

As for the sport package, I was hoping for a smaller increase, but $600 bucks makes sense for the steering wheel and upgraded seats. I don't buy that the comfort seats are a $1,200 upgrade - that's over the "stock" seats, but the sport package already included nicely upgraded seats as it was.

Has anyone sat in both the sport and comfort seats? How are they different?

I have a 545i w/ sport package, with the sport seats. Before I bought the car, I drove one with the comfort seats. I chose the sport seats because the side bolsters are more deeply cut (and hold you in place better), and they also look better (more "sporty") than the comfort seats. Lots of folks also like the comfort seats, so my suggestion would be to try both before you decide.

I just bought my car last month and now people start talking about 2007 already... Doh! Anyway, hope this model won't change much. I am not too crazy about Nigth Vision option and it's expensive too. The HD Radio may be good. Anyone knows any other changes to MY07?

Any information on whether you can order the Logic 7 without the CD player (and resulting lower price)?
