Darn it. I am sorry. I am in it with you. Yesterday morning I parked "safely" on a curve--turning my wheel toward the curb so I that I could not possibly scrape my right front rim. I knew that I would have to reverse the procedure to get out without scraping. On the way to the car, when a few feet away, I noted the procedure I would have to use to myself. Not more than 30 seconds later I forgot about applying the procedure, and scrrraaaaape!!! But, I am a duck so like water off my back. Like you I couldn't believe it. That's the way things like what we did usually seem. As said above, don't worry be happy. All will be well soon, but you know that.
Sorry about your rim, how bad is it?

Bummer,
but at least it can be fixed, it could have been worst. Hopefully your insurance will cover most of it, I think your looking at 500 to 1000 dollars for repair. Hold back the tears, you have a lot of life in front of you. One thing about cars and accidents. THEY CAN BE REPAIRED
. Best of luck, show us your baby once its finished and shinny once again.

Ummm, good question. If you take the car to BMW it will be like the second crucifixion, they will rob you without the gun, finding a body shop that can repair and match the paint may be costly, especially if that particular color is propritary to BMW. If you can afford it.... go for it, BUT don't let any body shop tell you "we can almost match the color". Make sure you get at least 3 estimates before you make any final decision. Good Luck" My Lady"

Well, can any body shop order the paint from BMW? I want to make sure that they use the exact color and not almost. Also, since the damage is not just bumper, will they have to paint the whole side or just touch the area?

Any "reputable" body shop will do that or at least get the proper color codes from BMW to match the paint. Usually, when repainting quarter panels and such they need to blend the color into the original color.... which means they may have to re-paint the good part of the panel and bumper to make sure it blends properly. Again this is something "you must" discuss with the body shop on how will they blend the paint.

gave her some tan as well
I noticed some obvious reversing damage on my car a week or so back
