Exclamation HELP sport shifter not working!!!!

I've searched a few threads even PM'ed some members and still no solution. When car is in D(drive) the light next to the D is not illuminated, however everything seems to be working normally. When I move the shifter to the sport shift side same effect car remains in (drive) no illumination on the sport shift side. This is extremely frustrating!!

when you move the shifter to left (sport shift), do you see "DS" on the instrument cluster?

sounds like you have an unseated ribbon underneath the plastic piece.

On dash displays "D" even when shifter is moved to "DS"
When shifter is moved over it remains in "D" mode only.

Can you explain or do you have information on an "unseated ribbon?"

Regardless of any lights or cluster displays, does the sport shift still work?

Take the trim off and see if the "ribbon" is plugged in under the stick shift...

OK I'll check it out. If the ribbon was unplugged would that affect the other gears too? makes sense but wouldn't the other lights not illuminate as well as the m/s?
*the lights for the other gears illuminate (D, R, N, etc.)

I'm going to do check that out hopefully thats it.

There are two ribbons. One for illumination and one for shifting to SD an M. it will just stay in D if the specific ribbon is undone. This is a 30 second check and easy fix.
