Default HELP!!! Quad exhaust? or no Quad exhaust?

ok pls don't kill me for asking this, but I have a 07 550i, I want to add the quad rear bumper. well I would need to quad my exhaust, but the indy shops I have asked about this mod keep saying that i'll lose power bc of the back pressure and the way the engine was designed for the set up that it has, ok cool. HOWEVER i'm thinking that what if I just ran a dummy pipe from the exhaust side of the car that looped over to the passenger side and added a set of Tips bc i'm just going for the quad look and body kit look. I see this E60 quad mod on the net. I just googled e60quad exhaust and it shows several set ups with the belly on the exhaust side and this pipe with another pipe angled pass the gas tank with a dual tip on it.i see them connected to the exhaust line but why cant the pipe be a delete and just there for the look.. does this sound corny???? i'm not out for a race. i'm fine with the power that I already have.. so pls tell me if im a idiot for even asking or is and will this be a good look.

It can be done, you just need to take it too a good muffler shop, not your regular mechanic.

Take a look at post # 4 in your other thread. - https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...system-139586/

If you're planning on just add a fake pipe with no leads to the exhaust it will look strange in the colder months when there's smoke only coming out of one side for one thing. I just saw you're in Florida so you may not run into that issue however you may be charged by a shop about the same amount as you would get charged to have one of those "belly" on one side systems installed to have a custom "fake" setup. Not including the parts that is.

my thoughts:

IF
(car = M5)
THEN
quadpipe=kewl

IF
(car != M5)
THEN
quadpipe=ghey

At the end of the day, it's your car. Do whatever makes you happy.

Bro, you ASKED for opinions. Let me refresh your memory:

That was YOU, asking the members of this forum if your planned mod sounds corny. I happen to be someone that thinks this mod is completely corny. You asked, and I, along with others, answered. If you aren't prepared to hear multiple possible answers, DON'T ASK THE QUESTION. If you aren't interested in what others think, including those who might disagree with what you find aesthetically pleasing, DON'T ASK THE QUESTION.

It's not like you posted a picture of your car and captioned it "hey guys, check out my car!" You quite literally asked for the opinions of the members of this forum. Apologies if my answer doesn't jive with what you were hoping to hear, but understand that is your problem, not mine.

Again, it's your car, do what ever the hell you want with it. I certainly do.

I would never try to pass my car for something it's not. I just like the rear bumpers with the quad look. I don't want m5 fenders or mirrors
