Hey guys, just got my new key from the dealer, and it wasn't working properly at the dealer. By this I mean, that I basically have none of my comfort access features (I have to push the buttons to unlock my doors and the key has to be in the ignition to start the car). My service advisor told me that I need to put the key in the ignition and drive the car around for 10 minutes in order for the key to program itself...Coming from another BMW, and being a BMW nut, this sounded like BS to me, but he assured me this was the way to do it. Sure enough, I was right. The key still doesn't work. Any1 know how to program the key to make the comfort access features work?!

Thanks Guys

The put it in and drive around only works for non CA. I think for CA they need to 'do' something.

insert the key/fob into the ignition, but when you push it in, hold it in for 20 seconds. then start car.
this works assuming you have a fob port.
