Hi guys wandering if anyone can help me! gave my e60 525d 2004 model for valeting. They washed the seats floor, boot area with a high power wash jet! and now nothing works. The dashboard doesnt light up, the wipers dont work, the central locking doesnt work, the windows dont work! have they blown a relay or fuses?? if so where is it in the car? They told me that during the valet the wipers wouldnt switch off so they disconnected the battery! and now nothing works?? ANY SUGGESTIONS?? THANKS

I hope they were insured, I would be making a claim against them!

It really appeared as though they didn't know what they were doing. Judging from problems with empty batteries, it should be clear that one never, ever wants to disconnect the battery.

If they couldn't get the windscreen wipers to stop, it sounds as though there already was a serious problem.

Err, how again did they clean the boot area, where the fuses are located and some electronics modules?

It sounds like the micro power module under the spare wheel is gone probably from the water.

It may be something more serious, but the first thing I would check is whether the battery is flat.

The fact that they said the wipers kept working while they washed it would suggest that they had the ignition on, probably without the engine running.

The power draw is considerable, and it doesn't take that long to flatten the battery.

I happily stand corrected, although I read several stories on this forum of drained batteries that resulted in cars that wouldn't even roll afterwards. Of course drain <> disconnect, but in both situations the car is without juice and that seems to result in problems.

I?m sitting here puzzled as to why anyone would allow someone with a high power wash jet near the interior of a car to begin with.

Good luck and let us know what happens.
