help please: fuel tank flap

My Ride: 2007 525i (not LCI) - Alpine white, M sport package, Comfort seats, Logic 7, Bluetooth, Xenon adaptive headlights, PDC, sunroof, A/C with extended features, etc.
hey guys,
so i've noticed that the fuel tank flap (outer one, not the cap) can be opened with a push if the car is turned on or running regardless of whether its locked or unlocked. The flap locks only when i lock the car with the ignition off. For safety issues, i would like the fuel flap locked at all times. It should unlock only when i unlock the doors.
Is this the general case? and do u think the dealer can reprogram this?

well...lets say im stuck in traffic...or i stop at a red light...what if a hooligan comes up, opens the tank and puts sth in there...like he can potentially blow up the car u know..
my car is in a third world country, so anything can happen...now don't get a wrong impression, but it may happen u know.

that is a good tip advancedlogic ! this all sounds a little too far fetched... i would be worried about being snippered or driving over a land mine..
either way you couldnt drop anything into the tank and make it explode.... there is no air in the tank so it wouldnt explode. mythbusters proved this. also, it would have to fit into the tank hole and they would need a couple seconds to do all this, open your lid, unscrew your cap etc.... by this time you've gotten out of your car with your AK47 and pumped some lead into the terrorists!

the only thing that would scare me is a bag of sugar getting in my gas tank some how........now that would suck.
