I think that there is a mistake in that comment about pushing the button. It is not a button. Simply a light. You can not press it. It lights to inform you if the airbag is on or off. It is entirely possible that someone has a car that allows this, but I have never heard of it. Like I said it does not make sense for you to tell the system weather or not the airbag should be on or off is the sytem already does this.

Ohh by the way my wife is an attorney too. Business Law, Tax Law, Itl Corporate Law and occasionally family law.

The DVD and the airbag off light are US spec only.

Correct. But in this case it may actually be an advantage (for ONCE!) to determine whether your sensors are actually working. The airbag off light in my car also sometimes goes on when my wife is sitting in the passenger's seat. The specs say the liight will not go on for passengers weighing above 45kg. My wife weighs about 58kg so obviously something is very wrong. As usual BMW is looking into it. They tried to sell me some crap about "is your wife sitting in the right position?" etc., as if due to hard breaking before a crash, a passenger would necessarily be sitting in an optimal position.
BMW better take care of this problem and SOON!

Maybe if they don't come through, I should use some of the extensive legal expertise on this site, at a deep discount of course

oh, wow ! that's something new and very "creative" . i think you need to apologize to them and say, "oh, i'm sorry. my bad. my wife was sitting on the floor." gosh! what kind of stupid excuse was that ? did you ask what suppose to be a right position? in the backseat or trunk ? those people don't even know what are they talking about .
