Help needed replacing front drive axle on 535xi
Replacing front drive axle on my 08 535xi.. help needed..
So I am replacing the front divers side axle after I pulled the existing shafts CV out of place by accident and I cannot get it back into place. It clicks and seems to shift a lot while slowly turning it, So I guess I am just going to replace it.
Question is.. How do I get the old shaft out? Will it just pry out? Or is there a clip I need to unclip?
Once its out, is there going to be fluid leaking out or no? I have done a few of these on my Hondas but never on a bimmer.. So if you guys could give me a few pointers I would really appreciate it.

Was able to watch a video or 2.. Seems pretty straight forward. Just need to pry it off.. there is an Internal clip as there was with the other cv axles I have changed.. Doesn't look like a lot of fluid will come out, if any.... So I don't think I will need to replace any fluid.
Ordered a used OEM axle, didn't want to hassle with the cheap stuff failing on me in a year or 2..Which is what they usually do. Certainly didn't want to spend the 1k for the new BMW cv axle so I settled for a used OEM unit.

You can buy a GKN for about 350 which is oem to bmw. I have had good luck with e46. Can't say the same about 535xi.
