hi everybody.
i just wanted to introduce my self as a silent member. Ive been part of this website for a couple of months just observing and trying to make a descion on what car to get.
I live in Dubai, and there is only one bmw dealership here (although it does have around 10 branches) . everything here is monoploized, plus the 5-series's are selling like hotcakes. this means the only way you can get one is if you order one and wait for 3.5 months.
That is not the problem though, the problem is i finally decided to get a 530 (06) model (with the new engine, 0-60 in 6.5). but th dealer tells me that it does not come with the smg gerabox until sept production.
now im 21 years old former e46 m3 driver. i really enjoying driving agressively and enjoy changing gears like a f1 driver. And beacuse i will be paying for this car by myself, money is a big object. I would love to buy a 545 but cant afford one ( actually i can , but its not wise for me at this point) :<.
so im stuck,
1) should i purchase a 530i with an auto tranny (if so, will this effect my 0-60 time).
2) should i purchase a second hand 545 (any tranny), if im able to find one
3) should i consider whatver is second on my list. (fx35 with supercharger [0-60 in 5.4], a c55 [ they will be changing the model in 2 years, and service is expensive on amg] c6 vette [my heart loves the car, but my brain doesnt] x5 4.4[used 05 model]
i am currently suffering and driving my dads company car, which is sunny (sentra in usa). so i cant wait to change this pos.
last but not least, i also wanted to know whether people would be intersted in another 5 series aero-kit., with dual exhaust system. I work with my dad, he owns a couple of plastic factories, and we deal in everything from fabrication to injection, film, blow molding plastics. So it would not be very difficult for me to design a super sexy , HQ, body kit for the e60.( which i will do if i buy one).

New 545..... you won't regret it.
Screw the C55..... That tiny little car is more comparable to a M3 than a E60..... but costs the same.

I don't want to say that one car is better than another, but if you go with an e60, get the biggest engine you can.
The c6 is a great car and I agree that it may have a stigma attached to it, but in the end, who cares what other people think. If you want a fast, great handling car, this would be it. Just please don't get an automatic.
If you're more concerned with status however (nothing wrong with that), the C55 or e60 will take you there.
