BMW themselves quite often show Dark Blue Metalic with brown or tan interior so they must think it works as a combination.

BMW always have had these kind of marketing recommendations.

If you have ever picked up a brochure from you delaer, there are these colours matchlines.
Mostly conservative as the brand is.

Most do not know, or cannot afford (as me), the BMW Individual Line.

Everything is possible and it is real!

While I prefer the new light gray, I have kids and their feet get light colors so dirty you can't clean it. Therefore I've actually become quite used to black interior cars and now really love them. It works well with Monaco Blue....

Black goes well with any color. Black/blue combinations are all over the place in suit/shoe/tie combo. I think it is also important to know if it is a lease or purchase. In the lease case color combo does not matter. If you are buying, stick with popular combination otherwise you'll be in trouble when it is time to sell the car. Just look at CPO car prices in various combinations. For example. 6 series with Chateau Red interior goes for at least $5000 less than silver or black on black.

There's a world of difference between an accent colour and a whole "room".

I have to "live" in my car.
