I am rebuilding a 2008 535xi (last 7 of the VIN cz62185) that was slightly hit on the front. The insurance took it apart and then sold it to me through an auction. Some parts damaged were not included with the car. I ran a parts list off www.realoem.com for front end and there seems to be a few things that are odd:
1. The car lists active flap control parts that I have no trace of. I mean no tubing, no electrical wiring to the upper active flap control. NOTHING.
Additionally, I found regular brake ducts in the trunk suggesing that the car did not have this feature. There is no non-active upper air flap option available. I bought the active one (position #1 below), but it has a 4-prong socket to connect it to the wire harness + it is in shut mode right now, so if I put it in like that, the air will not go into the engine through kidney grills.

2. According to ETK, this car uses U-shaped air duct (part # 51747184413) position 28 on the below diagram, but when I attempt to install it, it does not fit around transmission oil cooler radiator and its housing (positions 4 and 5 on the next image)

Other than these two things, the car is 95% ready to get back on the road. I am ready to start banging my head on the wall with this thing. The dealer is no help, as they tell me that I can have only active ducts and that U-Configuration central duct.
If anyone either worked with these cars before or is going through a front bumper conversion to M-Tech and can snap some pictures of the car w/o front bumper, or even better write down the part numbers for these parts, they will be tremendous help.

Hope you got my email. My 535i doesn't appear to have any of the parts you mentioned, Re:#1.

I'm not sure you need items 1 and 28. I thought the active flaps were to aid the diesel cars with quicker warmup. I was wrong again...

I went to a dealer lot yesterday to look at a few cars and none of them had these flaps, so I'm going without them. Weird part is that when I asked my dealer's parts department to give me a full list of parts that go in the front of my car, they listed these (and realoem.com) as well. There must be something messed up with their ETK.

On the second diagram, can someone tell me what part 25 is? I found this piece of plastic lying at the bottom of the bumper. Not sure where it actually attaches to the car or what it does.

Thanks for the diagram - I'm just wondering exactly how and where this attached? Had a look through the grills and I couldn't see anywhere obvious this thing attaches.
