HELP! Dead Instrument Cluster!
#1
Help!
My new M5 (2006) arrived yesterday and everything works fine but the instrument cluster is dead. No lights at all and needles don't move. The trip computer in the iDrive doesn't work either.
Any ideas? I checked all of the fuses and they are fine. Is there a way to reset the computer or something? I don't want to have to wait a week for BMW to get it fixed.

About the problem, as a start, try disconnecting the battery for an hour or so. Then reconnect and see if it helps.

So you checked all the fuses? The ones in a glovebox and the others where the battery locates.
edit: BTW, please put your location on your member profile. There might me some skilled members near you who possibly could help you!

The hour long wait was for naught. No difference in the cluster.
Gonna call BMW roadside and then bring it to the stealership tomorrow. Ugh
Thanks for the help!

Next I would suggest charging the battery. These cars can do some crazy things when the voltage is low.

I've got 12.49 volts on the battery. Should I go buy a charger?
