I always maintained and operated my car very carefully, I use the switches very softly and don't allow any one except me to drive my car. However, today when I drove back from Costco, I tried to switch off A/C, suddenly I noticed a small portion of plastic falling out of somewhere and I did not realize that it was from the switch (control). When I parked the car, I found out that a small piece (found the piece on my seat) from control came out. It looks like its broken. How do I fix it?, Can I take it to the dealer and ask them to fix it on good will? I could not find this part alone in realoem..any suggestions?

It is part of the expensive( $700 or $800) HVAC control assembly.

90% of the BMW's I have sat in, let alone owned had a broken HVAC knob (or two).

Solution: eBay. It is a very easy swap, but WILL happen again.

EDIT: If you go to a model shop, you can buy a glue dispenser that has a tip so small it resembles a hypodermic needle, with a steady hand and patience you can join those parts again, but the crack will always be visible.
