Default Help Code 004f89

Hey everyone I'm Beast.. I have a issue with my 2006 550i I'm getting code 004f89 and my car will drive shift good 1st and 2nd then into third it'll jerk and from 3rd to 4th the same But it'll jump Back into 3rd and stay there and.gives me a red tranny light and just stays in 3rd after that I dropped the pan and changed the fluid no change

You're going to need more than a fluid change. You're going to have to drop the valve body and change seals. There's a thread covering this in the DIY section with a lot of good information

ok thanks and also there was tiny pieces of metal in the pan does that mean the teanny is gone

Oh damn. Metal is bad. Was it flakes? How long has this been going on for. It's hard to damage the transmission itself. I would say if you had metal in the pan don't waste anymore money in trying to fix it. You're going to need a transmission

Yea it was lil flakes and this was about the same time I started their thread was when it started

You can definitely rebuild it and be fine. Then you'd avoid having to code or program anything and just have to reset the parameters.
