On my E61 My 2005 ( built sep.2004) Cd text is available only from front CD player, nothing out of the 6 CD changer.

As you can see, track name not working...
This cd displays it's name and tracks in my ?75,- "audio" system in my VW caddy (working horse)

However, as you can see my cupholder is now baptized as Ipod-holder and i can see every track i'm playing even after the 2.2 upgrade

not the most elegant solution, but works fine for me!

Today I played a (burned) CD that I allready played before my car was updated to software vesion 14, and I've got text! Well, I had text before, but not on that CD. So, the software obviously has something to do with it...

What are you using for your ipod connection? I thought the bmw aux input was the only thing available so far and that it's a separate idrive item. Your pic makes it look like your using the cd player for the ipod input. Or isn't the ipod playing through the stereo in this pic?

He is playing a CD. You can see that he is in the CD menu. So the ipod is not playing through the stereo in this pic.

Thanks, I was wondering because I use a cd changer adaptor with my Audi TT for the Ipod input. So I switch the headunit to cd when I use my ipod. I was pretty sure nothing like this was available for the e60 yet.

Try This:
Take any commercial Cd and import it into I-Tunes.
Go to menu option "get CD names"
Burn this playlist to new CD using Sonic (Sony product I think).
Names now show up! But only on in-dash player or DVD slot, not in changer
For some reason CD's burned with I-Tunes won't work

A cd is playing to demonstrate it not being able to display track names and the ipod is connected through the aux input.
