I sold him my stealthbox. Shipped it along with a farad cap and wiring. He received it and said all was good and asked for tips. So I gave tips including to be careful shutting trunk...to make sure the box is lined up properly. A day later he tells me the box is shattered and wants to know if I put insurance. I told him no. He then wanted to return it to me. He said it arrived broken. So I asked for pics. He sent and looks like he dropped it shattering the fiberglass bottom. I'm not stupid. I built it and I know exactly what happened. So I told him what I thought. So he filed a paypal dispute. When that didn't work out for him he did a chargeback on his credit card. So he has his money and my stealthbox and obviously has no regard no remedy the situation.
It's not like I couldn't fix the the box easily but since I no longer have it........

That sux ! I remember a short while back when you posted, perhaps when it first happened. I looked at the user profile as I did today but for some reason I thought it was a pic of a guy with a hat on looking down at the ground as if in shame for cheating someone. I figured what a perfect pic for him. Now I see superman, did he change profile pic or am I thinking of someone else?

 

I hate when people do stuff like that. What goes around comes around, he will get his.

 

Give him till next Friday to pay you back, or ship back the stealthbox. If he doesn't respond, or do either, post his address here (verify it with the paypal transaction to make sure he didn't ask you to mail it to a duff address).

One of the pitfalls with using paypal, I have been the victim of charge backs twice. They are legally bound to honour the charge back regardless of the reason, I had paypal threaten to take me to court for refusing to pay a charge back once. Sorry you got stung, hope you can get him one way or another.

 

I just used paypal for credit card transaction. Actually I won with paypal but because he paid with this credit card company he contacted them to duke it out with paypal. In the end I had to say....I would like to fight my own fight but unfortunately paypal was fighting for me with the CC company and lost. Thus, I lost.

tonyb365 - You're thinking of another user..I know the avatar for some reason. You know like when a song plays and you really hate it but you now know the words? Ask me why I don't even watch TV or listen to the radio much.

I was told by paypal to contact the fbi as this is interstate fraud. Especially when he has comments within posts on this board where he suggests the same thing (initiating CC chargebacks). But I'm trying to give a fellow a chance even if he is a ****. Situations come up which limit peoples' options. We all breathe the same air and bleed the same blood so I am compassionate to an extent. I feel confident he'll do the right thing in due time.
