Default 2004 545i Timing Chain tensioner removal.

Pretty much title says it all. I need to replace timing chain tensioner on the n62b44. Driver side it easy. Passenger side hits the side of engine compartment/Finder an cant be removed. So has anybody done this with motor in car? I thought about unbolting motor mount bolt an jacking motor up to get it out. But I don't now how much room that will give me. Im getting a rattle/knock on cold start up. Pulled valve cover off to replace gasket an inspected timing chain. An yes its lose from weak timing chain tensioner spring is weak. So I need to get this fixed before it eats the guides... Plz info needed ...

Ahhh... So you've been lurking and lifting other peeps ideas for years until you needed to post your problem, and so you finally joined. We hear you. Just wish you joined and contributed before this! But that's cool. That's what we're here for.

Moving you to the general discussion part of the forum where your problem will get more exposure.

(Don't take my comment the wrong way. I just had to razz you.)

We used to do that on e39 540s to do valve cover gaskets. We'd unbolt the mounts at the subframe then rock to motor over just enough to gets the VCGs out. We did it for the very reason you're posting: big v8 preventing clearance

Good luck
