I am a recent convert to the E60 world having spent 8 years owning and enjoying an E39. I recently purchased a 2008 528i from a private owner. The car is equipped exactly as I would have wanted: 6 speed, Logic7, Sport and Premium Package, and the guy lived 3 miles from me! Car had 48K on it and it still smells new. P.O. had ALL service done at BMW of Dallas, even out of warranty repairs (not many of those), and I have all the records! I opted for the 528 instead of the 5454, 550 or 535 because I wanted a slightly less complicated ownership experience, even while sacrificing some of the fun. Didn't want to deal with turbos, active suspension or steering because I plan to keep the car for quite a while. P.O. had Michelin Runflats on the car. I noticed that I did indeed have a spare, so I replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's. Ahhh...MUCH better! This car is better (IMO) than the E39 in most ways, refinement, power, toss-ability and is more advanced technologically. I AM, however, having a bit of an issue getting used to the numb on-center feel of the steering, although I suspect I will at some point. My gas mileage sits between 19 and 22 in the city, about 2-3MPG less than my 2002 528i. But, overall, I'm smiling.

Congrats on the purchase and nice choice on tires. I run those too and love em. You must have a lead foot haha. I average 20mpg in my 550i.
