Car is a 2004 530D with 102000 miles
The heater refuses to blow cold. With the air con off and the temperature dial turned to minimum it still blows hot air with an outside temperature of 3 degrees.
Just had the air con recharged and it did not indicate any leakage but that cant be the problem anyway since hot even with it off.

Any ideas on whether it could just be the temperature control dial mechanism or something else

Jim

I had a similar problem on another car, once, and it turned out to be the A/C electronic module.

check in the i-drive menu under climate control settings. you can select hot or cold air to blow from the center vent regardless of the temperature setting.
