Default Headlight troubleshooting

Greetings, all!

Have been trying to figure this one out by myself, but I think I've gotten as far as I can manage.

Passenger headlight doesn't work.
Nothing but the LED strip works, and, yes, I can hear the adaptive motor moving (and visual inspection confirms it).

When I got the car, the light assembly was missing the ballast (got one el cheapo from amazon, even I'm no stranger to FCPEuro) and the bulb.
I've tested the "new" ballast with the driver's side, it works.
So, the ballast is fine.
I've tested the light assembly with a previously tested D1S bulb, and, still, nothing.
I've plugged the driver's side light assembly into passenger side, and it works.

So, here's what I've gathered so far.
The wiring up to the light assembly is fine.
The ballast and the bulb are fine.
But, neither the main nor secondary bulbs light up.

Yes, the insulation is fraying. I'm gonna grab the liquid electric tape.
Yes, I can find the complete headlight assembly. But, I'd like to get this one fixed.
The lenses are clear. The motor works. Should be just the wiring...

Right?

Is the assembly wiring. If the drivers side works with the passenger plugs with no issues then that's the only thing left. You've verified everything else works.

Thanks, Sean!
That's what I was thinking of.

However, how do I take the darn cat, er, light apart?

When I did mine I didn't take it apart. I just worked through the hole and got everything taped up. I used electrical tape. It was tedious but both were done sitting on the couch watching a couple of shows
