Headlight lens removal

If you can remove the bulb, then just fashion a wire coat hanger or something to reach through the hole and pull the socket back into place and then glue that bad boy in.

WOW Thank you, thank you, thank you, DanL. Just the info and pics I was looking for. Hopefully with this and the advice from Donpb about the coat hanger, we can do this. Thanks again.

Other bad news is- the old side is not going to look new! Might have to buy a pair!! Junkyard would be my first option.

Thank you for that idea!!! It's worth a shot. Especially it saves us from purchsaing a new headlight assembly. Thank you again.

I think you can fix it with some wire thru bulb hole to grab it. I would suggest a smaller gage and a little more playable wire than coat hanger.
Position the assembly where gravity is to your advantage to bring the lens in place.
Dexterity! Good luck.

I reattached my cornering lens using double sided tape, all thru the bulb opening hole above. It's tricky, but is doable and doesn't require purchasing a new assembly.

Argh. I just got a right parking lamp notification and its the angle eye bulb. I have replaced that bulb already so not sure if it went bad or the wiring shorted. When I was in there last time, several wires were exposed and I lamely taped them back using blue painters tape. Yeah yeah I did not have electrical tape at the time.
So now I have to go back in there and thanks to that third video, I think I can do it easier this time without scuffing my bumper up like I did before. I did not know about the pull forward first part. I will make sure to do that this time but I'll still put some tape there to protect the bumper just in case.

just did this repair a few months ago. I decided to remove the lens completely, replaced the lens (epoxy) blacked out headlights, and replaced the halos. would be a great time to retrofit some nice projectors for upgraded lighting but money was tight at the time. Have some morimotos for next time.
