Headlight Aim Too Low
Had my MOT done yesterday on my car E60. Passed after adjustment made to my headlights. I was surprised to hear that the aim of both my headlights were too low while the nearside light was also too far to the right. I have xenons and thought there were self levelling anyway, so would vary in height anyway.
Just a minor thing but surprised that the lights were incorrectly aligned. Do they loose their height after 3 years ??? <_<

I ran an E39 with Xenons for 8 years without needing readjustment to the headlights; they should not "lose" height, but if they were incorrectly set up to start with... . The self levelling only compensates for changes in car height/slope from a central position; that is set up manually.

Isn't the height simply adjusted with one screw?

My car has it's MOT in 2 weeks - I'll see what happens!

Kind of. There are two adjusters, one mainly vertical, the other mainly horizontal, but the construction and position of the leverage points is such that moving either will affect both V and H positions. Plus, if you have Xenons, there is the self-levelling mechanism.

Just lost my eyebrows and side LEDs from CIP 23.02!!! Not happy!!!

But at least you get a faster iDrive response (or so I'm told)

Seems like it's a common side effect (pun semi-intended).

My iDrive was always ok - I think the speed problems related to SatNav enabled hardware...
