I don't think my headlamp washers are working. I have never seen them operate when I have my headlamps on and I wash the windscreen. How frequent do your headlamp washers work?

When the lights are on and every nth wash. Or when the headlight fairy commands.

Yes, lights on and every 3rd wash, at least with Nordic specs,
and always the first time after restarting the engine (lights on).

In the Nordic countries the headlights must be on all the time
for safty reasons.

hmm.Thats interesting.Last weekend when i got a 530i to test drive i checked on that.I was convinced that the car didnt have the washers until i washed the windscreen and i saw water coming on the hood while i was driving on the highway.

When i stopped i checked again.Every first time after start up is correct as many confirmed. But it wasnt every third time after that.I am sure about that.I had to wait some time more to see it again washing the lamp.I think maybe every fifth or even more.Definetely not three.

Maybe they changed it on newer models or its just a software thing. That car was produced in july 2006.

Manual says three. My practical experience says 7 or so (hence my first post). I suspect the count of 3 is dependent on each of the three windscreen washes being a minimum duration of 5 seconds or so; often I only need a little more liquid to wash away the last bits of dirt, and that does not seem to count.

Standard in the UK if you have xenon lights, I believe its the law for xenons to have washers
