My Ride: 2010 E63 AMG -- Palladium Silver/Black. Love this car but looking to switch things up to keep things fresh. 2nd AMG in a row, but toying with coming back into the BMW fold!

Quick question: On other cars that I have owned in the past (2000 Audi A8 and 1992 Mercedes 500E), when you have headlamp washers, if you wash the windows, they wash the lights, whereas other systems will wash headlamps only if the lights and wipers are on. I have tried both situations and it does not seem like they are squirting fluid.

Is it possible that it is speed dependent?

Oh, and for you wise guys out there...Yes, I have washer outlets on the front bumper. I mention this, because sometimes cars do not have them.

Thanks!

The headlamp wash should work if you have your lights on. It will work once and then there is a long time delay before they work again.

Supposedly, the headlamp washers go off every three (3) times the windshield washers are used (can't remember where I heard or read that). I have never actually checked mine. You'll need two people; one standing in front of the car and the other inside. Just do a regular windshield wash, rest for a minute, do another wash, rest, and see if the headlamp washers work on the third wash.

Yes, in the US you need the cold weather package, and I think there is a painted placeholder there if you don't have the package. So it may look like you have the washers, but you may not. I didn't see CWP in the sig, but in MA, I sure hope you have it!!!

Really? Those little covers in front of my lights are just decoys? Huh.....

I really thought that the washers will only come on when you wash your windows while your high beams are on. Just like the Audi A6 I used to have. $65+K car with fake head light washer....I hope no one asks me to show off my washers, or it would be very awkward having to explain that they're just decoys.

I have the headlight washer. You just need the main light to be on. Once you press windscreen wiper washer system, the wiper will go off first. About 0.5-1 second later, the headlight washer will squirt the fluid. Another 1 second or later, the headlight washer will squirt again, in total 2 times.

I can see from the driver seat the headlight washer fluid flying up towards the windscreen. If you get out to have a look, you will see traces of the fluid on the bonnet and of course the headlight cover.
