Distribution of members, great idea, but no clue how to find out. Perhaps any hidden statistics?

Or a not so hidden poll conducted a while ago?...

They will move once you start the engine. I have never seen it but my family has.

It's required by law. Xenon can be very glaring if the angle/position is not correct. Try starting the engine with only yourself in. Then get others to go into one by one. The headlight will start adjusting itself again.

Mine level at key position 2, prior to actually starting the car. No further change is noticed after starting the car, at least while still sitting still.

The self-levelling system is supposed to adjust the headlight again if the load in the car changes the direction of the beam. I tried this with my previous car: by pressing the car down at the rear, I could actually see the headlight dip after it went up due to my action.

I'm pretty sure they self-adjust themselves as you drive too. The E39 did for sure, you could see them drop down on hard acceleration and you could see them rise under heavy braking.

I think the E60 does the same thing but I think they improved the system so much that it isn't as detectable as the E39 was. (The E39s was more primitive in that it adjusted in "steps" so you noticed it more. The E60 may be more "stepless" so it's harder to notice them move.)

Come to think about this: the adaptive headlight is nothing more than "side-levelling", or more accurately anti-side-levelling.

Rudy! That poll lumped all Europeans into a Union and all Americans into a North America.
Maybe the Canadians and the French didn't mind the company they kept back then.
At least we have what sounds like a competent contributor from France!

Hey Rudy ! your baby is one year old! Congrats.

The only remaining problem is this autophobic attitude of the governement wich reflects to the police regarding the speed limits and drinking and driving. It is by far even more enforced than in the US in such a way that is realy stupid.

Come to Finland and You see what is really autophobic government! Fuel is expensive, car tax is high (both use and buy), police have speed radars in they cars, vans, bikes, speed cameras alongside roads, stop checks for breath analyzes (that's actually good!!)

Car is a cow business for our government, because they spend more to other areas than infra!

Oh yes, I know they will level if needed for bumps/dips. Noticeable when driving over speed bumps such as found in apartment complex (or my driveway which is full of tree roots). I only meant to indicate that the motor need not be started/running for this to take place, rather it was key switch position dependant.
