it has an LED lamp, some one told me it's for Welcome usage, i.e., when you open the door, it automatically lights.
but the dealer told me that because common e60 does not have the wire for this lamp, so they can't get it work.
what a pity!
I know that at the bottom of the front door there is a lamp that can light when you open the door, do we have any way to make it work?

If you have pic of wire colors and number of wires of M5 mirror and your original mirror, I can find out what you'll need to do.

Best Regards

Those lights are part of the extended lights package. If you did not have the option specified on your car, you will not likely find the wires.

In E60 led lamps in under the mirrors are available with the extended light package. I have them on mine E61.

If you don't have the extended lights package there might be a problem, because you can't connect them. If I was you and didn't have the extended lights package, I would just connect the wires to the cabin lights... It's not the same, but then they goes on when you unlock your car, and when you opends your door

I hardwire that in 2 of my customer's car and works perfect, all you have to do is take the signal from the light that is below the door.
